Killer on Loose in Long Island's First Homicide of Year

Police are searching for a suspect in Long Island's first homicide of the new year.

The killer was still on the loose Sunday, two days after James Creekmore was shot to death in his North Bay Shore home.

The 41-year-old was gunned down as he walked through his front door Friday evening, Suffolk County police said. His girlfriend, 4-year-old daughter and 16-year-old twin boys were home at the time of the shooting.

The killer opened fire inside the house, then fled, police said.
