Police are searching for a 29-year-old man who went into the Mecox Bay when his jet ski overturned.
Southampton Town Police say the man was riding with a woman shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday when the jet ski overturned and they both went into the water.
Police say a passing boater rescued the woman, but the man was not found.
A search team including Suffolk County Police Aviation, Southampton Bays Constables and several emergency workers were unable to find the man before the search was suspended when it got dark.
The search was to resume at sunrise.
