A passenger jet bound for Ohio aborted its takeoff at LaGuardia Airport after its pilots got an engine fire signal, causing delays at the airport just before the holiday.

A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman says the AirTran Airways Flight 206 aborted it's takeoff and came to a stop on runway 13 at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

An airline spokeswoman says the Boeing 717 with 114 passengers and five crew members was inspected by fire officials and safely towed back to the gate. She says there was no fire.

Passengers were then transferred to another plane.
