The Norwegian "Epic,'' claimed to be the largest ship to ever dock in New York, arrived for inaugural celebration this morning.

The massive ship docked at Pier 88 in Manhattan around 10:30 a.m.

Music super stars Justin Bieber, Enrique Iglesias and LeAnn Rimes will perform on the ship for NBC's live broadcast from 9-10 p.m. EST of the Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks over the Hudson River. The show will be hosted by Nick Cannon from ABC's "America's Got Talent," and Alison Sweeney from NBC's "The Biggest Loser."

Bigger than all but a handful of Royal Caribbean ships, Epic is more than 60% larger than the largest Norwegian Cruise Line ship currently at sea.

A spokeswoman for the line told USA TODAY that the giant, 4,100-passenger vessel is going to have to drop some of its lifeboats when it arrives in the Hudson River in order to fit comfortably into its assigned dock space.
