Police are investigating after a man’s body was found floating in the Hudson River near the West Village Thursday evening.
Police found the man floating in the water near Pier 51, at West 12th and West streets around 7 p.m. after getting a call about someone in the river who was in need of help.
The man was unconscious when police arrived and had some sort of head injury. He was declared dead at the scene.
A medical examiner will determine how the man died, police say.
