Homeowner Chases Off 2 Burglars in Queens: NYPD

A quick-thinking man confronted two burglars who entered his Queens home and chased them off before they had a chance to steal anything, police said.

Now police are asking for help to find the would-be robbers.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, was at his home on Saunders Street and 66th Avenue in Rego Park on Friday around noon when two people broke into his home, the NYPD said.

He said he was using the bathroom when the men broke in through the back.

He confronted them, chased them outside and grabbing the hood of one of the suspects and nearly subduing him. However, they got away.

Surveillance video shows two men in black clothing making a quick exit.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
