A 30-year-old homeless man has been arrested on a murder charge in connection with the death of a man found beaten outside a Patchogue church last month, police say.

Thomas Lamartina is accused of killing 65-year-old Nicholas MacQueen, whose body was found outside the Emanuel Lutheran School at 179 East Main St. on June 28.

Lamartina is being held at the Fifth Precinct station pending his arraignment Tuesday at First District Court in Central Islip. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.

It's not clear if Larmartina knew MacQueen.
