Police in the Hudson Valley seeking the public's help in finding the driver of the vehicle that struck and killed a high school student this week.

Shequila Brown, 18, died Wednesday night at a Poughkeepsie hospital soon after being hit by a vehicle whose driver didn't stop, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Education officials say Brown was a student at Poughkeepsie High School who was enrolled in the Marist College Upward Bound college preparatory program.

Officials with the Poughkeepsie school district say crisis counselors were available at the high school for students and staff members.
