A 17-year-old Long Island high school student was arrested for allegedly leaving a written bomb threat in a stairwell, Suffolk police said Tuesday.

Authorities at Amityville High School called police after finding the menacing note shortly before 9 a.m. The note threatened to blow up the school.

Police arrested the teenage student from North Amityville a short time later. She was charged with falsely reporting an incident, a felony offense.

The student is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
