Police arrested two New Jersey men after they pulled them over for speeding near a Kentucky Fried Chicken and allegedly found a stash of drugs, including Ecstasy and heroin, in their car.
Officers pulled over driver Francisco Pena and his passenger, James Lopez-Lora, both of Paterson, around 11:15 p.m. Monday for speeding in the middle lane of Route 17 northbound.
Pena gave the officer his license and registration, and one of the officers noticed several cell phones and air fresheners in the car.

The officer said both Pena, 32, and Lopez-Lora, 32, appeared very nervous. Suspecting drug activity, the offers got consent to search the car and say they found two plastic bags of a rock crystal substance that turned out to be Ecstasy, or MDMA, and three bricks of heroin. The baggies were stamped with a logo.
Both men were charged with intent to distribute MDMA and heroin, as well as possession of both substances. Pena was also issued several traffic violations for speeding, careless driving and drug-related offenses.
