Showers, Thunderstorms Pummel Tri-State Again Tuesday

More showers and thunderstorms were pummeling the tri-state Tuesday, Storm Team 4 says, making for a second straight day with dreary, soupy conditions.

Heavy rain, causing flooding on some roads, fell in Passaic, New Jersey, Tuesday afternoon as a cold front approached from the west. New Jersey could see the most severe weather, complete with gusty weather and lightning strikes, according to Storm Team 4.

Tuesday started off cool, cloudy and foggy, with temperatures in the 60s across the tri-state area and muggy air hanging above the region. Temperatures lingered in the upper 70s through most of the day, despite mostly cloudy skies, with cooler readings across the twin forks of Long Island and southeastern Connecticut.

A drier air mass will move in Tuesday night into Wednesday, making way for a mostly sunny day with lower humidity.

Storms could return Thursday, with showers on the horizon through the weekend.
