A heat advisory is in effect for the New York metropolitan area and parts of New Jersey until 8 p.m. Sunday as temperatures are expected to hit the low 90s and feel even hotter.
Heat index values are expected to be between 95 and 99 degrees Saturday and Sunday afternoons, with humidity making it feel even more sweltering.
Residents are urged to keep out of the sun, rest and drink lots of water.
