Police Seek Suspect in Harlem Subway Station Sex Assault

The victim was assaulted while entering the 135th Street subway station at the turnstiles

Police investigating an early-morning sex assault at a subway station in Harlem are asking for the public's help in locating and identifying the suspect.

Police said it happened at about 5:20 a.m. Thursday, at the 135th Street subway station, near St. Nicholas Avenue. A woman was entering the station at the turnstiles when the suspect ran up to her, grabbed her and sexually assaulted her, police said. He then ran away.

The 25-year-old victim went to an area hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.

Police said the suspect is about 20 to 25 years old with a thin build, and was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with white lettering on the front.
