Authorities are searching for a gunman who allegedly shot and killed a man near a Jersey City housing complex.

Hudson County prosecutors announced Sunday that a warrant was issued for 24-year-old Daquan Mixson, who faces murder, aggravated assault and weapons charges in the slaying of 21-year-old Darius Dashawn Redmon.

Redmon, of Jersey City, was shot in the head late Friday night while he sat in a car in the area of the Booker T. Washington Housing Complex.

No other injuries were reported and a motive for the shooting has not been determined.

Authorities say three men drove the wounded Redmon to a police department station, where officers performed CPR before he was taken to a hospital. He was pronounced dead at the hospital on Saturday night.
