Video Released of Surgical Mask Gunman in Long Island Pharmacy Robbery

The pharmacy owner previously told NBC 4 New York the robber stole 10 to 15 bottles of painkillers

Authorities released surveillance video of an armed, surgical mask-wearing suspect who pointed a gun at a pharmacy worker during a robbery on Long Island earlier this week.

Police have been looking for the gunman since the robbery Monday morning at Harry's Pharmacy on South Broadway in Hicksville. They hope the surveillance video will help generate tips about a potential suspect.

The video shows the masked suspect in a yellow jacket walk up and around the pharmacy counter pointing a black handgun at the worker behind the front desk. The suspect is holding a basket in one hand, and uses the other one, which is holding the gun, to direct the employee to a certain area of the pharmacy. Out of frame, the employee appears to be on his knees reaching for pill bottles and putting them in the basket.

The pharmacy owner previously told NBC 4 New York Oxycodone is kept in that area of the store. The owner also said about 10 to 15 bottles of the painkillers were stolen during the heist. She also said she believes the man was a customer at the store because he knew exactly where the drugs were stored.

The suspect is believed to be in his mid- to late 30s. Anyone with information is asked to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
