Gunfire Breaks Out at 2nd Brooklyn House Party

Five people were shot and wounded early Sunday at a Brooklyn house party -- a day after one man was killed and another eight were hurt at a different party just miles away.

Four men and a woman were shot near Nostrand Avenue and Fenimore Street in Prospect Lefferts Gardens around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, police said.

All five were taken to the hospital and one victim is in serious condition, police said.

So far there are no arrests and no motive for the shooting.

On Saturday, a fight broke out at a crowded house party in East New York, leaving one 20-year-old man dead and eight people wounded in a block-long trail of bloodstains that ended in front of a public school.

"It was chaos,'' said Stanley Davis, who lives around the corner and awoke to the sound of police helicopters hovering overhead.

The party was advertised on Facebook as "Freaky Friday'' and had a $5 cover charge. As many as 100 people crowded into the party on a block of two-story row houses, neighbors said.
