Authorities are investigating after a contractor walked into a Brooklyn police precinct Tuesday with what appeared to be grenades he wanted to turn in, police say.

The man found the devices at a different location, though it wasn't immediately clear where. He brought them to the 83rd Precinct on Knickerbocker Avenue shortly after noon so police could determine if they were real.

The bomb squad was called in to assess the situation.
