A pedestrian is being treated for minor injuries after falling down a manhole in Greenwich Village Monday evening, fire officials said.

Firefighters were called to West Third and Mercer streets, where a man fell into the manhole at about 7:45 p.m., authorities said. Firefighters pulled the victim out and rushed him to Bellevue Hospital, where he is being treated for injuries to his arms and legs.

Witnesses at the scene said the man went around orange cones apparently set up by the utility Consolidated Edison when he fell into the hole.
