Community Board Votes Against NYU Expansion Plan

Despite the community board vote, the city's Planning Commission and the City Council could still approve NYU's construction plan

A community board has voted against NYU's reconstruction plan in Greenwich Village.

Neighborhood residents voiced their disapproval right before Thursday night's vote.

The university wants to rebuild major areas of the campus. Their plan would require the city to change its zoning laws, and construction would take 20 years to complete.

Despite the community board vote, the city's Planning Commission and the City Council could still approve NYU's construction plan.
