    A controlled explosion shook Brooklyn Thursday night, part of a staged stunt for the television series "Boardwalk Empire."

    News Chopper 4 was over the set of "Boardwalk Empire" in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, when the controlled explosion went off on the set. FDNY and NYPD were there to supervise. (Published Thursday, Aug 16, 2012)

    FDNY and NYPD were on hand to supervise the explosion in Greenpoint, which happened just before 11 p.m. on a private property at Commercial Street and Franklin Street.

    The city has been seeing a boom in local television and production. Last year, the industry contributed $7.1 billion to the city's economy last year, according to the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment.
