NYC Man Found Guilty of Murder in Death of Grandma

Prosecutors said the 24-year-old Larry Davis beat his grandmother to death and hid her body in her bedroom closet

A New York City man who stuffed his dead grandmother in a closet and then partied in her apartment has been convicted of murder in her death.

A Manhattan jury found Larry Davis guilty on Friday in the March 2011 death of his 76-year-old grandmother, Cora Davis.

Prosecutors said the 24-year-old Davis beat his grandmother to death and hid her body in her bedroom closet.

They said he then invited a prostitute to his grandmother's apartment, where they drank alcohol and smoked marijuana.

District Attorney Cyrus Vance said Davis had terrorized his grandmother for years before he killed her.

Assistant District Attorney Matthew Bogdanos said during the trial that Davis killed his grandmother because she wouldn't give him $175.

Davis is expected to be sentenced on July 23.
