Raging Fire Engulfs Plumbing Supply Building on Long Island

A raging fire ripped through a plumbing supply warehouse on Long Island, smoldering for hours and leaping to a nearby warehouse. 

Firefighters from 32 departments swarmed the Cove Plumbing Supply building in a business district on Morris Avenue in Glen Cove shortly after the blaze broke out sometime around 10 p.m. Monday. The wind-fueled fire was still smoldering for hours with firefighters putting out hot spots. It was brought under control hours later early Tuesday.  

Three marine units also responded to fight the fire from the Glen Cove Creek. 

A first-responder suffered a minor injury, officials said. 

Vehicles and equipment were inside the building when the inferno started. 

Video and images from the scene taken by Twitter user @jctusa417 show dozens of firefighters working to put out the inferno. 

It's not yet clear what may have sparked the blaze.
