An SUV that was rear-ended outside a Yonkers post office jumped a curb, smashed through a parking meter and hit two young girls on the sidewalk, seriously injuring them, authorities say.
Both drivers stayed at the scene after the accident on Main Street around 2 p.m. Monday.
The girls, who are believed to be between the ages of 5 and 8, are being treated at a trauma center. They are both expected to survive.
No charges have been filed at this time.
