Family, Friends Mourn Girl, 14, Shot on Queens Bus

Daja Robinson was shot in the head as she sat on the Q6 bus on Saturday, heading home from a sweet 16 party

Family and friends said farewell Friday to the 14-year-old girl shot and killed on a Queens bus as she headed home from a sweet 16 party.

Daja Robinson was hit in the head by a bullet police believed was shot from the street in a gang dispute in South Jamaica last weekend. She was on the Q6 bus.

"It's a very sad situation," family friend John Sims said after the funeral. "I hope we learn from this."

Police are questioning a 16-year-old boy in the shooting, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said Thursday.

Investigators believe the boy was firing at other gang members on the street when the gunshot went through the window of the bus.
