There are some major delays on the George Washington Bridge.
Drivers should expect delays of 60 to 90 minutes on the inbound upper level, and delays of 20 to 30 minutes on the inbound lower level.
A large freight container became separated from a tractor-trailer truck at about 2 p.m. A portion of the bridge was closed as the container was removed.
The right lane has since re-opened, and authorities are inspecting the roadway as a precaution.
This is in addition to existing delays on and near the bridge stemming from a months-long construction project.
