Gang Member Arrested in Brooklyn Rooftop Shootings

21-year-old suspect tried to elude cops by hiding under bed, authorities say

Police arrested a man suspected of spraying bullets into a crowd of teenagers from a perch on a Brooklyn rooftop.

Four boys were wounded in the April 7 attack.

Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly says the violence was gang related. The shooter was a member of the Bloods gang. The victims were Crips, the city's top cop said.

On Friday investigators arrested 21-year-old Ernesto Pollard, of Brooklyn's Crown Heights section. Police say he tried to escape capture by hiding under a bed. Investigators also found a handgun.

Pollard was also charged Friday with a separate shooting in October that left a 17-year-old paralyzed from the waist down. He faces an attempted murder charge in that attack.

It wasn't immediately clear if Pollard had a lawyer.
