The FBI arrested seven members of a violent drug gang operating throughout the Hudson Valley early Wednesday, NBC 4 New York has learned.

The gang members face federal charges including murder, drug trafficking, extortion and weapons violations, law enforcement sources said.

Law enforcement sources say the gang members were being brought to the FBI office in Goshen for processing and will appear in federal court in White Plains later Wednesday.

The arrests are the latest executed over the last several years in a series of task force investigations targeting violent drug trafficking gangs operating in Newburgh, Middletown and other areas of the Hudson Valley.

Details of the investigation and charges are expected to be released later Wednesday by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan.
