12 Gang Members Busted on Federal Firearms, Narcotics Charges in the Bronx: Sources

More than 12 alleged members of a violent street gang based in the Bronx's Hunts Point were arrested on federal firearms and narcotics charges early Wednesday, law enforcement officials tell NBC 4 New York.

Teams of agents from the ATF and Homeland Security, along with NYPD officers, executed the arrests of the suspects, who are affiliated with the Bloods street gang, the sources said.

The suspects were brought to the 49th Precinct for processing and are due in federal court in Manhattan later Wednesday.

The U.S. attorney's office in Manhattan is expected to release additional details of the investigation and charges later in the day.
