Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand was left unable to move from the neck down after being injured making a tackle in a game against Army on Saturday.

Groups will hold a fundraiser to help the family of a paralyzed Rutgers University football player.

Parents from the Port Reading Saints Pop Warner Organization and the Colonia Patriot High School football program whose sons had played football with Eric LeGrand will hold a benefit dinner in Woodbridge Saturday.

Committee member Leigh Farrell tells The Home News Tribune of East Brunswick they're focusing on the costs of running the home and maintenance so LeGrand's parents can concentrate on his recovery.

The 20-year-old was paralyzed from the neck down making a tackle on a kickoff return against Army on Oct. 16.

LeGrand is being treated at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange.

Tickets to the pasta dinner can be purchased at ericlegrandpatriotsaintfoundation.com.
