He was driving a 2002 Audi that struck the Brews Brothers Grille on Franklin Avenue in Franklin Square, police said. The Allstate Insurance Company next door was also damaged.

The car also a hit a utility pole, causing the power lines to fall, police said.

Firefighters used the jaws of life to get three people out of the car.

Two 23-year-old passengers were injured, one suffered a bruised lung and the other broke a rib, police said. Masci suffered cuts to his shoulders and was treated at a hospital, police said.
