Emergency workers rushed to a Bellport school Thursday after teachers and students complained of a foul smell, Suffolk County police said.

Nearly 150 people at the Long Intermediate school on Brookhaven Avenue were examined at the scene, according to police.

One adult was hospitalized with nausea.

Tests done at the scene found nothing dangerous in the air, a police spokesperson explained.

The foul odor appeared to be coming from a nearby landfill, police said.
