NJ-Bound Plane Veers Off Runway in Fort Lauderdale

No one was injured in the small crash.

A small plane headed for Teterboro Airport in New Jersey ran off a runway and crashed into a fence at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport Wednesday morning.

There were no injuries to the two crew members and six passengers aboard, Ford Lauderdale spokesman Chaz Adams said.

The plane, a Cessna Citation, had problems during takeoff, Adams said.

Witnesses said the plane barely got off the ground before it veered off the runway.

Adams said police and fire rescue crews responded, though the plane didn't catch fire. He said a tow truck would have to be brought in to get the plane off the street.
