Next time you think about taking that leap of faith off the Empire State Building, remember the case of Jeb Corliss, who was convicted Wednesday of reckless endangerment for his failed attempt at jumping off the bulding.

Corliss, a BASE jumper and former Discovery Channel Stunt Junkies host, was arrested on April 27, 2006 while attempting to jump from the observation jump of the building. BASE jumpers employ parachutes or wingsuits when jumping from the world's tallest objects - Buildings, Antennas, Spans, and Earth - hence the term BASE.

The Post reports Corliss "could face up to a year behind bars when he's sentenced on Jan. 22, but the first-time offender is expected to get a much less sever penalty for the misdemeanor conviction." And to the Discovery Channel - bring him back. By giving an adrenaline nut like Corliss a home to come up with such crazy plans, they only encouraged such activity, and should've stood behind their man upon his arrest. Wimps.
