Ex-Nurse Mom Who Admitted to Overdose Death of Daughter, 6, Found Dead in NY Motel

Kathleen Dymes had pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide and other charges in January

A former nurse who pleaded guilty to a homicide charge in her 6-year-old daughter's overdose death has been found dead in a Westchester County motel.

Police on Monday told The Journal News that Kathleen Dymes' body was discovered Friday morning at the Apple Motor Inn in Ardsley. The Westchester County medical examiner is to determine the exact cause of death.

Dymes had been sentenced to five years of probation after pleaded guilty last year to criminally negligent homicide, misdemeanor child endangerment and possession of a controlled substance.

The little girl, Lacey Carr, was found dead in her bed in her Croton-on-Hudson home in 2015 after ingesting a mixture of antidepressants and pain medication.

Dymes was found unconscious on the floor next to the bed.
