Former Mayor Ed Koch Hospitalized Again

It is the 87-year-old's second hospitalization in three months

Former  Mayor Ed Koch is in a hospital with a respiratory infection. It's his second hospitalization in three months.

The 87-year-old Koch was admitted Tuesday afternoon to New York Presbyterian Hospital,  said his spokesman George Arzt. The spokesman says Koch is being treated with antibiotics.

Arzt says the two were having lunch Tuesday when Koch said he didn't feel well and planned to call a doctor.

Koch was hospitalized in September after feeling weak while staying with friends in North Carolina. He was treated for anemia, released after three days and said he planned to head straight to his office at a law firm.

Koch served three terms from 1978 to 1989. He's famous for asking constituents, "How'm I doing?"

Koch turns 88 next week.
