Leader of NY-Based Folk Nation Gang Arrested: Feds

The gang is believed to be responsible for four murders plus several robberies.

Federal authorities say they've arrested a fugitive leader of a violent New York City gang linked to a series of armed robberies and shootings.

The U.S. attorney's office in Brooklyn said Wednesday that Devon Rodney is in custody. Further details were not immediately available.

Federal prosecutors said previously that Folk Nation is responsible for at least four homicides, three attempted homicides, and six robberies. One of the victims was a 10-year-old bystander who was shot and injured during a turf war.

The gang, based in the Ebbets Field Houses, has been the subject of a two-year investigation by the FBI and the NYPD.

Authorities say they also robbed people after using Internet ads to lure them to secluded spots.

In New Jersey, the men are accused in the armed heist of a Hackensack jewelry shop.

The name of Rodney's attorney was not immediately available.
