A man was apparently wielding a barbell when he allegedly attacked three relatives, including his 7-year-old son, in Queens, authorities say.
Police say 49-year-old Quanhui Liang slashed his own throat after the attack Wednesday night in Flushing.
The child and his 44-year-old mother suffered head injuries. They were listed in critical but stable condition.
Liang's 77-year-old mother-in-law was in stable condition with chest injuries.
Liang was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He was charged with attempted murder, assault and other crimes for allegedly attacking his son and the boy's mother.
He was charged with assault in the attack on his mother-in-law.
Information on an attorney for him wasn't immediately available.
