Three families were displaced by a fire that ravaged their New Jersey homes early Tuesday.

A total of 13 people, including a 7-month-old baby and six other children, lived in three separate apartments in the East Orange house that erupted in flames shortly after midnight. Fortunately, they all made it out safely.

No firefighters were injured.

Firefighters continued to cope with hot spots throughout the morning. Neighboring houses suffered minor damage.

The cause of the fire wasn't immediately known.
