A man accused of stalking "Law and Order SVU" actress Kathryn Erbe is now facing federal charges in New York.
Federal prosecutors in Brooklyn filed new charges against Charles Nagel, which carry up to 5 years in prison if he's convicted.
Nagel was arrested in March in Philadelphia for allegedly harassing the tv actress. Erbe, who has a residence in Brooklyn, had complained to authorities Nagel followed her to tv shoots and frequently sent her troubling notes and letters.
The suspect is charged with 'the intent to harass and to cause substantial emotional distress to a person in another state.' Investigators said he used a computer as well to try to contact the actress as well.
Nagel reportedly harassed a minor more than a decade ago and is now in FBI custody in Philadelphia. He is expected to soon be sent to Brooklyn to face the federal charges.
