Two passengers died in a crash just after midnight on the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx Thursday, police said.
It happened on the northbound side near the Cross Bronx Expressway at about 12:25 a.m. Police said 30-year-old Eduardo Nunez of Washington Heights was driving with several passengers when he lost control of his vehicle, a Chrysler Charger, and struck a cement pillar.
A rear-seat passenger, 22-year-old Jose Henriquez of Yonkers, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Another passenger, 16-year-old Daniella Abreu of Fort George, later died at Saint Barnabas Hospital.
Two other men were passengers in the car and were listed in critical condition at Saint Barnabas.
Investigation is ongoing.
