DA: Staten Island Medical Worker Faked MRIs in RX Scheme

Prosecutors say an employee at a Staten Island radiology office created fake MRIs for nine people to help them get prescription drugs.

District Attorney Daniel Donovan says Jason Safoschnik is charged with falsifying business records, forgery and criminal impersonation.

He's also charged with diversion of prescription medications and prescriptions.

The alleged crimes occurred last March and April.

The Staten Island Advance says the defendant declined comment on the charges Wednesday night.

A woman answering the phone at Radiology Services of New York said it also had no comment.
