Stolen FBI Vehicle Recovered in Queens, Rifle and Vest Still Inside: Source

Police found the FBI agent's vehicle parked in Forest Hills

Police have recovered an FBI agent's stolen vehicle containing a military rifle and bulletproof vest, a law enforcement source said.

The vehicle, reported stolen Tuesday night, was found parked Wednesday evening in Forest Hills, Queens, the source said.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is continuing in an effort to identify who stole the FBI vehicle.

The silver 2010 Toyota Camry was stolen from 130th Street and Sutter Avenue in South Ozone Park, NBC 4 New York first reported Tuesday. Inside was the car was an M4 rifle and a bulletproof vest, both secured inside a locked box.

The FBI agent shot a man last July in a similar scenario, when he allegedly caught the suspect trying to break into his personal vehicle outside his home, according to law enforcement officials. The agent was recently cleared of any wrongdoing by a Queens grand jury.
