Hundreds Mourn Star New Jersey High School Quarterback at Funeral

Hundreds of mourners turned out as a star New Jersey high school quarterback who collapsed after taking a hit on the playing field last weekend was laid to rest.

Evan Murray's private funeral was held Thursday morning at Faith Discovery Church in Washington Township. Classes at Warren Hills Regional High School were canceled on Thursday.

His teammates wore blue shirts and black ties to the funeral.

Authorities say the 17-year-old died from massive internal bleeding caused by a lacerated spleen.

School officials say the football team will continue its season Saturday when it hosts Voorhees High School in a game that was initially scheduled for Friday night.
