Yale Student Identified as Empire State Building Jumper

Yale University junior, Cameron Dabaghi, identified as suicide jumper.

A Yale University junior, Cameron Dabaghi, has been identified as the man who plunged to his death on Tuesday in an apparent suicide jump off the Empire State Building.

The 21-year-old from Austin, Texas, was dead when rescue workers arrived shortly before 6:30 p.m. He had jumped from the 86th floor of the 102-story skyscraper, a floor with an observation deck open to the public.

According to the Yale Daily News, Dabaghi was majoring in East Asian Studies, and has sister who also attends Yale University.

The university said in a statement that it is making counselors available and extending support to the student's family and friends.
