Empire State Building, 1WTC Light With Orange Halos for Las Vegas Victims

Monday's attack at a concert by American pop singer Ariana Grande left 22 people dead

Two of New York City's most recognizable buildings will go dark -- mostly -- for thee victims and survivors of the mass shooting in Las Vegas.

Only a single band of orange will light up on the spires of the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center on Monday after a gunman killed at least 59 people and wounded at least 527 more during a concert on the Las Vegas strip Sunday night.

Both towers said in tweets that the band of orange was to honor the victims of gun violence.

The Bank of America Tower, another large presence in the city's skyline, also went dark save a single band of orange.

The buildings dim hours after the Eiffel Tower in Paris similarly shut off its lights in honor of the victims of the attack.

It's also not the first time the buildings have gone dark this year. In May both buildings went dark following a suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England.
