3 Choke, Rob Man on Elevator, Video Shows

Police are searching for three people

Police are searching for a trio of robbers who choked a man inside an elevator at his apartment building on the Lower East Side, then stole his personal property and ran away.

Two men and a woman targeted the 45-year-old victim as he was walking out of the elevator in a building near Henry and Clinton streets on Nov. 23, police say.

Surveillance video shows one of the male suspects strongarming the victim from behind and forcing him to the floor as the other two suspects pick his pockets.

The suspects then run off, leaving the passed-out victim laying on the floor of the elevator as the doors close.

People in the neighborhood were disturbed by the brazen robbery.

"I think it's disgusting," said one man.

Anyone who recognizes the robbers is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or at nypdcrimestoppers.com.
