Cops Investigate Death of Woman, 85, in Brooklyn

The woman was found by her brother around 8 a.m. Friday inside her Jefferson Avenue home

An 85-year-old woman was found dead inside her apartment in Bedford-Stuyvesant with a wound to the back of her head, police sources said.

There was a towel around her head and her body was leaned against a couch, sources said. She had a wound to the back of her neck.

The woman, identified as Gloria Cadet, was found by her brother around 8 a.m. Friday inside her Jefferson Avenue home, sources said.

Sources said there were no signs of forced entry.

Cadet's devastated family said she was a kind and generous woman. The owner of a six-unit apartment in Bedford- Stuyvesant, she always helped the community and the less fortunate, they said.

"Please, if you know anything, please tell us," Cadet's granddaughter pleaded to the public as she cried outside the building Friday. "This lady, I mean, she has not hurt anyone."
