Cops Seek Robber Who Hurt Woman, 86, in S.I. Home

Police are searching for a man who robbed and hurt an elderly woman in her Staten Island home Thursday.

The 86-year-old victim was inside her home in New Dorp when she heard a noise at her window at about 5:40 a.m., according to police. She opened her back door to check the noise, and a man forced his way into the house.

Once inside, he fought with the victim, then took her purse and ran away, police said.

The victim was taken to Staten Island University Hospital North, where she was treated for a cut to her hand and bruising on her arms.

The robber was later captured on a surveillance camera at a CVS drugstore using the victim's credit card, according to police.
