A woman died in a house fire in Hanover Township in Morris County, N.J. Sunday. The fire doesn't appear suspicious, investigators say.
Police in Morris County are investigating a house fire in Hanover Township that killed an 86-year-old woman early Sunday morning.
Firefighters responded to a 911 call at around 2 a.m., and arrived to find heavy smoke and heavy fire conditions in the back of the home.
The victim's body was found inside, according to the Morris County prosecutor's office.
An investigation is now being conducted by the local police and fire departments, along with the prosecutor's office arson unit.
The fire did not appear suspicious in a preliminary assessment, said the prosecutor's office.
