An 88-year-old man is in critical condition after he was hit by an SUV in Astoria, Queens, police said.
The man was walking with a cane across an intersection at 21st Avenue and 31st Street when a black Mercedes SUV hit him.
Police said the driver stayed at the scene, but he was arrested after taking an alcohol breath test.
The victim was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
